Hansbrough Sweeps National Player Awards, Still Not Happy

April 12th, 2008 Sports News Guy Posted in NCAA Football 2 Comments »

Hansbrough was awarded the Wooden award for Player of the Year. He has now swept the National Player of the Year awards this season, but it doesn’t seem to matter. He wanted the National Championship and this year it avoided him, none of these awards make up for the loss to the Jayhawks. I hope that he comes back next year to give one more run at the National Championship.

Here are the awards he won this year:

Sports Illustrated Player of the Year
Sporting News Player of the Year
Naismith Player of the Year
Rupp Award
Wooden Award

Terrelle Pryor Signs With Ohio State

March 19th, 2008 Sports News Guy Posted in NCAA Football No Comments »

After a long wait, Terrelle Pryor has finally signed with a school, and Ohio State is his place. I wrote about this a while ago and discussed the rumors that had been going around internet forums. Apparently Pryor went against his dad’s wishes and chose Ohio State over Penn State.

From what I have read, he is apparently not a team player and has a “Superstar” mentality, we’ll see how that fits into Ohio State’s program.

February 11th, 2008 Sports News Guy Posted in NCAA Football No Comments »

Reports are comming in that top recruit Terrelle Pryor has removed Michigan from his possible schools to play for. He has still not made any decision on which school to attend but sources say it’s down to Penn State, or Ohio State. Signing day was on the 6th and there is still no word from Pryor. Looks like we get to wait around until he’s ready to decide.

Terrelle Pryor Not Signing Yet

February 6th, 2008 Sports News Guy Posted in NCAA Football No Comments »

With 9 television trucks parked outside of his high school, Terrelle Pryor has said he will not announce his college choice today. He’s stated that it’s between three schools at the moment. Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State. Rumors are running rampant that he will be signing with Ohio State by the end of the week. Many Ohio State players and recruiting staff have said that he seems very interested in their program and as I’ve reported before there are rumors running wild of a booster club “fund raising” effort by Ohio State’s boosters. Guess we will have to wait until he’s ready to find out who he signs with.

Terrelle Pryor Signing Day Controversy

February 1st, 2008 Sports News Guy Posted in NCAA Football No Comments »

Terrelle Pryor is one of the top recruits being looked at by both Michigan and OSU and his indecisiveness on a college has attracted many fans hoping to have him on their team. Recently the battle between OSU and Michigan to sign the young prospect has taken another turn when OSU’s coaches were spotted at dinner with someone close to Pryor and rumors have swirled about OSU’s Booster Club raising funds in order to sign him.

The rivalry has never been civil between Michigan and OSU and I don’t imagine that this helps at all. This is mostly rumor right now but OSU did post the story first about the meeting. It was quickly removed from the scouting website.

I guess we’ll have to wait til Feb. 6th to see if the boosters paid off.
