Kimbo Slice is now 2-0 in the cage

Kimbo Slice who became an internet phenomenom when backyard fights featuring him started popping up on YouTube and other websites has taken his skills to the cage. After winning his first fight in a TKO, Kimbo took on Tank Abbott, Tank is past his prime but still packs a powerful punch.

The fight which only lasted 47 seconds, looked nothing like a typical MMA fight but more like the backyard brawls that Kimbo is used to fighting. There was no wrestling, no grapling, no take downs, and no body shots. The 47 seconds were all head shots and Kimbo landed stronger more precise shots to knock out Tank. The fight was broadcast on Showtime and Kimbo said that he wants to continue in MMA. Could we be seeing him in the UFC soon? Probably not, Brock Lesnar was a good representation of what happens when sheer force meets the technical skill of a good submission fighter. I still would like to see him fight some more, I also think he would make for some action packed heavy weight fights in the UFC.

Brock Lesner Submits in the 1st

Although he fought much better than I expected for a WWE wrestler, he still has a long way to come to be a dominant Mixed Martial Artist. Brock Lesnar was very exciting to watch as he threw huge punches, dropped hard elbows, and really looked like a dominant force, but then he left his leg open and it was all over. Frank Mir capitalized on the inexperience of Brock Lesnar and made him submit by locking in a knee lock. I’ll be excited to see more of Brock Lesnar in the UFC, I think he’ll make a great fighter, eventually.
